About the event
I will present the Shirabyoshi song and dance portion of a piece I created for Shirabyoshi and gamelan to Kakinomoto no Hitomaro's "Kyuketsu Aidoka" (Song of Sorrow and Blood-Weeping). I have composed a song and dance piece to Burma's "Flowers" and "Lakes" from Takagi Toshiro's "Imphal," and dedicated it to all those who died in the Battle of Imphal. Last year and this year, I often created pieces about war. I hope for peace through the Shirabyoshi song and dance.
